It's like buttah...

Today was one of those running days when everything falls into place and you run like butter. Lisa and I set off at the literal and proverbial crack of dawn for our weekly long run. We set off at a good pace and as usual around mile 1 commented that we were clearly each running in a time warp as I hit 1 mile a good 2 min before her GPS did. Hers is always slow mine is always fast. We inevitably "catch up" to each other but it's always weird for the first few miles.

The path we run is a wonderful mixed use trail that potentially could take you from east of county line rd in Longmont all the way into Boulder. The terrain is varied with hills, flat fast straight aways, shade, sun, single track (if you veer of the path for a bit), trees, wildlife...you name it. Today our plan was to run 14 mi but due to the wonky GPS time warp we weren't sure when we would actually hit that on the trail. So we went out a couple miles or so past last week's halfway point just in case. In fact, we ran well past IBM!

The whole run was super relaxed and I felt like we handled our water and nutrition consumption really well. No significant "down" times, great conversation, and beautiful scenery.

We got back to the 'hood and the GPS said 16.14mi at an 11'35" pace! Shocking! I checked the distance on google maps and the route was actually only 15.88mi and a 11'46" pace, but hey...that's still a good increase over last week...that pesky time warp!!!

Run as far as you can and as fast as you can...GO!
